The longer slide can change balance and sighting feel, but it does not turn the pistol into a full-size Glock MOS plate system.

Cleanest Direct-Fit Evidence

The SIG ROMEO-X Compact uses the Shield RMSc footprint and expressly lists Glock G43X and G48 as direct-mount pistols. SIG also lists multiple M3/M4 screw sets in the package. That exact model naming is stronger fit evidence than a retailer grouping several “micro” sights together.

The Shield RMSc remains the reference-pattern option because Glock names its interface directly. Vortex’s Defender-CCW publishes RMSc footprint resources and is another footprint-direct route, subject to exact hardware confirmation.

Vortex also now publishes a separate Defender-CCW Enclosed Solar with a Shield RMSc footprint. It is the notable plate-free enclosed route for both G48 cut generations. Confirm model DFCCW-MRD3-E and the G48-specific screw pair; the open and enclosed Defender-CCW models are different products.

Enclosed and Holosun K Routes

The EPS Carry and 507K use Holosun K. On MOS-K, that is a factory direct fit. On standard G48 MOS, use an exact adapter:

Avoid These Three Mix-Ups

  1. Glock MOS is not one universal cut. A full-size Glock MOS plate is not a G48 Slimline plate.
  2. RMSc is not identical to Holosun K. Standard MOS needs the K conversion; MOS-K has it in the slide geometry.
  3. Cover screws are not optic screws. Glock says MOS-K optics use maker-supplied M3 hardware; standard MOS uses M4. Exact length and torque still come from the chosen optic/plate instructions.

Installation and Zero Check

Unload and clear the pistol, identify the case-label item number, and dry-fit the entire stack. Confirm flat contact, correct thread and length, and free slide operation before live fire. On standard MOS, Glock limits screw protrusion below the optic to 3 mm because the extractor-depressor plunger sits under one mounting hole. Use the current maker’s torque/thread-retention procedure, witness-mark the fasteners, then zero and recheck them after the specified initial firing interval.

An optic that fits mechanically still needs a live-fire zero and retention check. “Direct fit” describes the interface; it is not a substitute for installation inspection.
